Cabin Boy
Cabin Boy
Haven't seen Cabin Boy in a while, but it's a very fond memory. On one hand, it ushered in 1994, arguably the greatest year in cinema history. On exactly the same hand, it was also a product of that year, as this movie is absolutely nuts, with Mr. Chris Elliot playing a Fancy Boy who is shanghaied onto a pirate ship. That this is an alternate world with bright colors and no explanation and a losing virginity scene capped by the line: 'These pipes are clean!' is one thing. The fact that it was made under studio auspices is absolutely unthinkable today, largely due to the success of films like, well, Cabin Boy. I know the seventies is like cool and deep and shit, but with some notable exceptions it's mostly boring stuff.
Cabin Boy is not boring.
