Bone Tomahawk
Bone Tomahawk
An enjoyably talky Western mistakenly called a horror-western. This mistake is understandable given that it contains the single most gruesome scene ever caught on film, and you know I've seen a lot. I do not recommend for anyone I know. Nevertheless, it embarrasses The Hateful Eight on its wit and Kurt Russell content. Besides being more entertaining to listen to, it has moments of genuine grace and is filled with imagination. Great and bad guys whose vanquishment is palatably satisfying. The only mystery is the general comment about its running length in the various reviews, mysterious as this was the reason I knew to see it. Basically everyone said how great it was, only that it was over two hours long. They weren't saying it was boring, just seemed like they had been tricked. It was nice to be so tricked. Ah life. So wonderful - why does it have to be so long?
