The Cineworld Crawley

The Cineworld Crawley

The Cineworld Crawley remains one of my most treasured theaters in England. It was distant, in Crawley (a kind of low-rent, suburban version of Croydon. Sorry, that was a joke for those of you in Swindon), and sadly switched to Baskin-Robbins with the rest of the Cineworlds. I don’t know what chemicals they put in Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, but they are vastly superior. Also, there are no options for chocolate or gelato nearby.

It’s Crawley. You would think this is due to the name, but weirdly, Uckfield is quite pleasant, just as Nottingham is a place I’ve never been and have a great deal of prejudice about.

The joy for me and the Cineworld Crawley was the selection, getting some genre crap – TriangleJohn Carpenter’s Crazy Lazy and so on – that even London wouldn’t show. They just had too many theaters, and they had to put something in there. Add this with the reasonable 11a showtimes and I’ve many a fond memory. Here they are.
