The Anti-Choice Movement

Boy that image took me WAY too long to make. And even longer to explain: Burian’s Ass in front of a movie marquee. Okay? Okay.

Apparently the rule I use the most, refers to the tendency – so very common, especially among the indie – for removing choice from characters thereby rendering all story rather bland. For the writer, it takes away the work (as long as you have a character say, ‘Well, that’s just fate, I guess’) and for the audience, it takes away the yucky feelings. Stories are scary! They might imply that I did something wrong at some point!
