There was a recent article about comedy being dark and if that's a good or a new thing and many words were written.  Yippie.  Yes, the principle of Kimmy Schmidt is potentially disturbing, certainly more than the reprehensible and simultaneously unscary 10 Cloverfield Lane.  But, as noted before, it's not about the subject matter.  It's the writing and the characters.  The darkness, not unlike Arrested Development is merely an expression of how fucking talented Mr. Carlock and Ms. Fey are, the fuck it attitude of taking a challenge because they want to.  The subject matter is distraction.  They could make a show about four science nerds who move in next door to... And then I took it too far. Sorry, this is a great show.  See it.
